Prairie Sky Resource Centre

About Prairie Sky

Welcome to the Proposed Prairie Sky Resource Centre

Economic Development ∞ Environmental Protection

The Prairie Sky Resource Centre will be the centrepiece of an integrated resource recovery strategy for southern Alberta. It will be a progressive recovery facility combining modern technology with natural processes to manage materials at the facility.  Our proposal demonstrates a commitment to waste minimization and resource recovery.   It will not only meet but exceed the standards set by the province.

The Resource Centre will be located off of Highway 23, southeast of Blackie, Alberta.

Prairie Sky will bring jobs and economic development to the community of Blackie and the surrounding region. We will be a source of economic stability while supporting the efforts of the province and the region to recover, reduce, recycle and reuse.

Over the coming months, Prairie Sky will be refining the project plan and ensuring that it addresses local needs.  We encourage your participation to make that happen.  There are still a lot of details yet to be decided. We want to make sure that we have heard all of your feedback before the plans are finalized.

This website introduces Prairie Sky, explains the many benefits the project will provide and tells you where to learn more and how to be involved in the consultation process. It will be updated on a regular basis as new information is available.
