Prairie Sky Proposal Documents
It’s official! BFI Canada has now filed a proposal for the Prairie Sky Resource Centre.
We are very excited to move to the next stage on this project, which is the centrepiece of our integrated resource recovery management strategy for southern Alberta.
The application documents include all of the technical studies supporting the project as well as reports on the public consultation process to date.
A Land Use Application for the project has been filed with the MD of Foothills. The M.D. will conduct a thorough technical review of the documents and will conduct a public hearing prior to making a decision on the application.
In addition, applications have been submitted to the Government of Alberta for necessary approvals under the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act and the Water Act and Public Lands Act.
The amount of material may seem daunting, but that is because we have been absolutely comprehensive in covering the technical, social and economic issues. If you delve into the reports, you will find that they are rich in detail. The main Land Use and EPEA applications each have an Executive Summary that presents the findings of the technical reports in approachable form.
We encourage you to review the applications and contact us as well as the relevant review authorities with any questions and comments. The review process is intended to ensure that all issues are canvassed and adequately addressed, so we look forward to hearing from you.
